You can use substitution

We know that y=2x-4

2x+5(2x-4)=16
2x+10x-20=16
12x-20=16
12x=36
x=3

Solve for y
Y=2x-4
Y=2(3)-4
Y=6-4
Y=2

The solution is(3,2)
