formula for distance:
d = √( (x2 - x1)² + (y2 - y1)² )

d = √( (-3 + 5)² + (4 + 2)² )

d = √( 2² + 6² )

d = √( 4 + 36 )

d = √( 40 )

d = 6.32456

therefore the distance should be 6.32456
(if you need more decimal places, just input √40 into your calculator).
