[tex]8 \times \frac{1}{5} [/tex]

[tex] \frac{8}{1} \times \frac{1}{5} [/tex]

[tex] = \frac{8}{5} [/tex]

but a way to work out fractions is that it divides

5÷8=1.6

and even if its 8 x 1 ÷5 it will give the same answer. but how to do that is :

BIDMAS Divide comes first

1÷5=0.2

8x0.2=1.6
