N a parking lot of 240 red and blue cars, the ratio of red cars to blue cars is 3 : 5. How many red cars are in the parking lot?

So lets add 3+5 to get 8.

So we know that 240/8 is 30

now multiply 3 and 5 by 30

so if 3 represents red you should get 90 cars

Check:

   3=90

 +5=150

----------------

   8=240

so the final answer is 90 red cars
